God is awesome...

Brooke and I have been so blessed so far this summer to be able to hang out with the youth group together. This is the first summer she hasn't been working since we've been married. What a blessing it is to be able to serve God together. He has blessed us with two amazing little boys and so much more. We have been blessed to be at Salem for the past 3 1/2 years and we look forward to whatever God has in store for the future. Thanks Jesus!

Mexican Birthday Boys
We celebrated Preston's birthday back in March with a trip to the local mexican restaurant. It was a great outing with just me, Brooke, Josiah and Preston. Preston was obviously excited to wear the great sombrero. This is a classic expression and one that Preston seems to make often. Josiah, as you see, was quite happy to don the sombrero himself. We are so blessed to have two great boys with two great personalities!

Light or Darkness?

"This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all."
- 1st John 1:5
God is light. God is love. God is life. These are the three truths that the apostle John is trying to convey to us through his writings inspired by the Holy Spirit in 1st John. I was just focusing on the truth that God is light. He is completely light. No darkness reigns in or even associates with this One we deem as Holy. In my Bible there are some interesting notes I would like to share: *Quote* "Therefore, to engage in fellowship with God we must walk in light and not in darkness. As we walk in the light, we will regularly confess our sins, allowing the blood of Christ to continually cleanse us." (NKJV - Ultrathin Reference Edition) What does it look like for you and I to "walk in the light"? Think about that question while pondering the next two verses in 1st John.
"If we say that we have felloship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin."

A Million Voices
"Million Voices"
Lyrics to a song by Barlow Girl
Tell me who'd have thought that we would be so controversial
And stand against the normal,
Are we too outspoken, loud, and messing up the comfortable?
Well we've been messed up also
But how can we be silent, When a fire burns inside us
'Cause we're a million strong and getting stronger still
They'll remember we were here
With a million voices breaking silence till
They'll remember we were here
We were made to start the riot, take on the impossible
And we will stay the giants
We are done with fake religion fighting now to find the movement
Won't stop till we find it
But how can we be silent, When a fire burns inside us
'Cause we're a million strong and getting stronger still
They'll remember we were here
With a million voices breaking silence till
They'll remember we were here
We're a million strong and getting stronger still
They'll remember we were hereWith a million voices breaking silence till
They'll remember we were here
First Haircut

So, I know it is the middle of May already, and it has probably been close to eternity since we last posted anything, but, here goes another stab at blogging consistently. We'll see how it goes. So, we'll start with a great pic of Josiah's first ever haircut back in January. January 10th, 2008 was the actual date. Yes, he was almost 2 years old, but hey, he finally had enough hair to cut!

Baby Preston Is Finally Here!
Preston Clay Worsley was born on Tuesday, March 27th at 2:12 pm at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC. He weighed a whopping 8 lbs 7 ounces and he was two weeks early! He was 21 inches long and has a head full of hair (unlike Josiah did). He is now almost two weeks old and is only waking up twice a night to eat and then he's snoozin' again. Thanks for checking our new addition out!
